ENTERTAINERS BASKETBALL CLASSIC (EBC) PRESENTS THE “SOUTH BEACH INVITATIONAL”

The Entertainers Basketball Classic Inc., (EBC) — the most recognizable streetball tournament in the world— presents the EBC South Beach Invitational, to be held August 15-17 in South Beach Miami, FL.  Featuring six celebrity-coached teams by hip hop artists 2Chainz, Pusha T, French Montana, Ace Hood, Fat Joe and Jadakiss, the weekend will showcase the best talent in basketball from cities across the country including teams from Miami, New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Washington DC. The can't-miss weekend experience will highlight streetball culture on and off the court, featuring an epic exhibit from Sneaker Pimps, world class DJs and more.
“We are always trying to create new programming around our legendary tournament” says EBC Founder, Greg Marius. “Building a hardwood court on South Beach has never been done and we are proud to be the first to do it. Whatever gets people excited about playing and participating in the sport of basketball is what the EBC is about.”

The EBC South Beach Invitational is an extension of the legendary EBC streetball tournament that has existed at Rucker Park in Harlem for over 30 years.  The EBC Rucker Park 2014 tournament began in mid-June and will run through Mid-August. Some surprise celebrity and NBA All-Star appearances at EBC Rucker Park this summer have included: Khloe Kardashian, French Montana, Shaquille O’Neil, LL Cool J, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, Troy Ave, Lance Stephenson, Kemba Walker, Maino, Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, Fabolous, Camron, Noel Nerlens, Kendrick Lamar, The Breakfast Club, DJ Clue, Gilbert Arenas and Dominique Wilkins, among others.

Last year, special appearances included: NBA All-stars Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder, David Lee of the Golden State Warriors,Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kenneth Faried of the Denver Nuggets, Tyreke Evans of the New Orleans Pelicans, Kemba Walker of the Charlotte Hornets and retired NBA players Shaquille O’Neal and Shawn Kemp. Also attending EBC Rucker Park was newly appointed NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, a long time tournament supporter. Musical artists and celebrities who made appearances last year and coached basketball teams included Rick Ross, R. Kelly, Yo Gotti, 2 Chainz, Fabolous, Fat Joe, Waka Flocka, Troy Ave, Vado, Swizz Beatz andDaymond John of ABC’s “Shark Tank.”
