THREE INDICTED IN NIKE BASKETBALL FOUL PLAY SCANDAL

Three men have been indicted by a federal grand jury in the U.S. on charges of conspiracy to transport, receive, and sell stolen goods in connection with an elaborate scheme involving rare Nike footwear. In a scheme that first came to light back in April, former Nike designer Tung Ho; his predecessor, LOOK/SEE founder Kyle Yamaguchi; and Florida footwear collector Jason Keating have all been charged with stealing and selling hundreds of rare footwear samples and player-exclusive designs as Ho and Yamaguchi funneled the sneakers to Keating who then flipped them for a hefty profit.

According to a report by Oregon Live, the operation kicked off back in 2006 while Yamaguchi allegedly raked in almost $680,000 USD for more than 630 pairs of sneakers from 2012 through 2014 alone.

Back in March, Ho admitted to stealing hundreds of pairs of “look-see” samples from Nike before investigators seized more than 1,900 pairs and an undisclosed amount of cash from his Oregon home that same month.

In addition to the conspiracy charges, Ho faces counts of wire fraud while Yamaguchi has been accused of interstate transportation of stolen goods. Keating is facing an additional charge for the receipt of stolen goods.
