Fashion

First off the name Hugo Tone how did that come about. Hugo Boss one of your favorite brands?

Well the name Hugo Tone came about as a joke from one of the guys... He started it by saying " I see on yo Hugo shit" cuz at the time I was rockin alot of Hugo Boss and thats where the name came from. Hugo Boss is one of my favorite brands when I'm on my "upscale shit" like when I wanna step my "fly" up.

We all go thru different phases when it comes to style. What are some of your most memorable?

I remember way back in the early 2000's when throwbacks and Girbauds were real hot through the city, I had my phase with those.. I had over 20 jerseys and 15 pair of strap
Girbauds . It wasn't a day that past that you wouldn't catch me in some.

At one point in the hip hop world we didn't have many variations when it came to style. It was sorta like we all wore somewhat of the same things with slight variations. How much do you appreciate where style has went lately?

Since I been older I appreciate style a lot more especially because it's more variety of brands to choose from.  Now you can mismatch designers to showcase you style rather than being corny and rocking all Louie or all Gucci from head to toe. I appreciate where style has went but I also feel as though a lot of people still copy what they see rather than doing what they feel.

When it comes to personal style do you switch it up daily or reinvent every so often?

I pretty much reinvent my style every so often because its always something new catching my eye  and , I try to outdo myself when it comes to style and fashion

Who and what has influenced your personal style over the years?

I'll say the era I've lived in has influenced my style more than anything.

What are some of the most memorable trends you can remember growing up in Chicago good and bad?
A trend I really hated was the rubber-bands around the pants.. I could never get to understand what was the purpose. It always seemed tacky to me. And also a lot of people were cuttingthe bottom  of their pants  to get them to fully cover their boots or shoes. I was paying a lot of money for jeans to be fucking em up and , that was also tacky and corny to me. A trend I can say I liked though was the sticking your pants behind the tongue of your shoes. And even before then I remember the crease down the center of your white tee. Those were a couple of trends I was cool with.

Music

What artist have had the biggest influence on you when it comes to music ?

Well when I first started rapping I cant even stunt. The man Bow Wow got me to start off. I was 12 and had braids and he was13 had all the girls and he had braids. As I got older I gravitated towards the rappers I could relate to better or related to the environment I was brought up in. Such as Bump J, Rocko, Jim Jones, Gucci Mane, and 50 Cent. I can tell those rappers are people who can relate to where I'm from! Especially Bump J!

How would you describe your sound and what do you set out to give your listeners ?

I describe my sound as breathe of fresh air. Something new and different. I like to paint pictures so you can visualize what I'm saying. I like for my listeners to feel my rhymes in their chest, their body, their soul.

What are your thoughts about the fact that everyone wants a part in the music business today ?

I don't really have a problem about that. I mean to each its own ya know? I take that as people just want to better their situation and how can I hate on someone trying better themselves through music.

All Eyez are on the Chicago at the moment ! What do you think has to done to keep the focus on our music ?
I think its just Chicago's time musically. We have been ourselves for a while and don't try to change what we do to fit in. I think that's why we stand out.

What can we look forward to from Hugo Tone in the future?
"My Life My World" dropping in 2013 and launching my own label in the real near future.
