Music Review: Meek Mill - Dreamchasers 2

Meek Mill released his highly anticipated Dreamchasers 2 mixape on Monday. I don't remember the exact point that I went from hating the sound of his voice (it reminds me of The Game's drunken rapping voice on "Start from Scratch") but I have gotten over it and I was anxious to hear DC2. Although Meek hasn't moved into my coveted "Favorite New Rappers" category, he is on my radar more than he was last year, but on to the mixtape.....
The majority of tracks have features from his MMG family Wale and Rick Ross as well as other notables like Drake, Big Sean, Trey Songz, Kendrick Lamar, Fabolous, 2 Chainz, French Montana, Jeremih and Mac Miller.  My favorite track is the Drizzy and Jeremih assisted "Amen" and I can honestly say that I have listened to it no less than 20 times since Saturday.  I can appreciate the fact that the beat actually reminds you of church, organ and all.  A few of the other standouts include "Burn" which features Big Sean, "A1 Everything" ft. Kendrick Lamar, and "Ready or Not", which samples the Fugees.  "Str8 Like That" ft. 2 Chainz & Louie V and "Racked Up Shawty" Ft. Fabolous are most definitely for the club.  Even though "Take U Home" Ft. Wale & Big Sean isn't remotely close to a slow song, I assume it is meant for the ladies.  There is a remix to "House Party" which has a new verse from Meek and  Fab, Mac Miller and Wale and of course the "I came from nothing but look at me now" tracks like "Used to Be", "On My Way", and "Big Dreams".  Over the mixtape is worth the download, it has lyrics and good beats.  This is the 1st body of work that I have heard from him in it's entirety, and I have to say it is quality music.  There are some songs I like more than others but I really couldn't say any of them were whack.... he has a new fan in me.
