Music Review: Big K.R.I.T - 4 Eva N A Day
Hey folks, sorry it's been a while since my last post but work and the infamous #gradschoolstruggle takes up most of my time, but while im on spring break I'm gonna attempt to make up for lost time...... So here goes. Last month, one of my personal favorites released his 3rd mixtape 4 Eva N A Day, and once again the Mississippi native did not disappoint.
It's something you can listen to the entire way through without reaching for the skip button. "Wake Up" kicks off the mixtape and this song has a saxophonist by the name of Willie B throughout, and the way the sax compliments KRIT's tone and the beat you would think they were made for each other. "Yesterday" is a track that is dedicated to his grandmother, and if you know a good amount about his you know how important his grandmother was to him. "Boobie Miles" follows that track, and then the mixtape starts to get a little more hype with "4EvaNADay (theme)","Me and My Old School" (my favorite on the tape, and "1986". "Red Eye" is another standout track because it's a song about trying to make relationships, while trying to making your dreams come true. I think one of the reasons I love him as an artist is because he is extremely relatable, and he always makes me think. "Handwriting" gives us a peak into his life as he raps about his struggle in the music industry trying to be true to himself and dealing with his label. Songs like "Down and Out", "Package Store", and "The Alarm" will definitely have you pondering about some things. Other tracks include "Temptation", "Country Rap Tunes", "Sky Club", and "Insomnia" are all great tracks in their own right. It's what you would expect from KRIT, good production, good lyricism, and messages. If you havent had a chance to listen to his latest piece or work I definitely suggest you have a listen, Ill even give you the download link ..... You won't regret it!!!!
