What's your name?
My name Is Eddie Santana White. Everybody calls me Edo though

What's your motivation/inspiration to do what you do?
My motivation for my first art showcase was everybody that was put up on those walls. Each person motivated me in some way, shape, or form. I did 10 pieces. 9 pieces were hung up. The 10th piece was dedicated to my O.G. She’s the main reason why I did the show. She’s my biggest motivation/influence. I unveiled the art piece & surprised her. She cried. It was awesome. A very emotional, but wonderful moment.

What is the purpose of your artwork?
All 10 of my “Infinite Inception” pieces are based off of Chicagoans. I didn’t go outside of my city for my first showcase. It was very important that I did that. I kept it personal. The Joe fresh goods piece was one of the last pieces I did. The Lucki Ecks piece was the first design I ever did that way. Fresh goods sparked the idea because originally, the Lucki Ecks piece was suppose to be for his new tape. That’s what Joe wanted me to design, so he basically kick started my new art identity & he also motivates me to just do what I want to do.

I’m also one of the designers at fat Tiger & when I talk to Joe, he’s always giving me super fresh ideas. He just does what he likes & that’s super fresh yo. That’s the freedom I chase everyday. The Obama piece was the first piece of the collection that I designed. He showed me that it doesn’t matter what skin, nationality, gender etc you are, you can do whatever you dream of doing.
I was in high school when he became our president. He was the first president I ever voted for. That feeling felt so amazing man. I felt like I was apart of the change the world needed in a way. Being a teenager & getting up and going out to vote. Its super important that the kids know that. The youth needs to get out there & vote. Make a change. Be the change. Make a difference.

My most personal piece is my signature piece. It’s the most vulnerable & the heaviest from an emotional aspect. I wanted to capture everything that I was feeling when I was designing it. I wanted people to see that I am true artist. I hurt, I laugh, I cry, I’m human. I think that that’s important for the youth to see that. I’m going to be a vessel for them. Someone for them to look up to & that piece will help show them that’s its okay to feel certain things. I want them to see that they’re not alone. So my signature piece isn’t really for me, but for the youth, or what I like to call them, THE INFINITE.

Could you tell me a little more about yourself and where the name Infinite Inception derived?

Infinite Inception was the name of my first showcase. Something really new for me you know. I’m into graphics/fashion design. I own two businesses (A clothing line “Emperion Clothing” & a graphics & screen printing company “blankcanvas”) & I have also designed for a lot of different entities throughout Chicago from Leaders, to DBM, to WGCI etc, so this was definitely something out of the norm for me. But it did so well, that I’m really going to get into being an actual “Artist” more.
Breakdown of the “Infinite Inception” name: Infinite meaning forever. Inception is one of my favorite movies. I loved the dream within a dream within a dream format. The fact that none of this could be real. I think that’s awesome. The fact of not knowing but wanting to. Questioning everything. I took “inception” from the dream within a dream within a dream format & flipped it the art within art within art format.

You will always find something different in each art piece every time you look at it, which is the entire point of calling it Inception Art. And I try to do as much research on each character so I can include certain facts & subliminal in each person piece. I just want the owner of an ORIGINAL Inception Art piece from Edo to know how much time & effort I put into each piece. Each one is heavily detailed & I put a piece of me in each one.
